UltraEdit opens files that choke ordinary editors: multi-gigabyte logs, database dumps and binary images load with disk-based paging, and the built-in hex mode edits those bytes in place. Column and block mode, multi-caret editing and regex search across multiple files make bulk transformations practical rather than painful.

The editor ships with syntax highlighting for hundreds of languages, an integrated FTP/SFTP browser, powerful macros and scripting, JSON/XML tree views and a project workspace for tagging and searching large code bases. Sort, deduplicate and format operations apply to both single files and entire folder trees.

How to install

1. Unpack the archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR
2. Run the installer as Administrator
3. Choose a custom path and skip the optional cloud components
4. Launch UltraEdit and verify activation in the About box
5. Import your wordfile and theme settings if you have them
