SoftMaker Office ships TextMaker, PlanMaker and Presentations as native Windows applications rather than Electron shells, which keeps launch times and memory use well below those of most rivals. Documents are stored in the OOXML formats by default, and the suite handles large spreadsheets and long documents with multiple master pages without lag.
The current release adds a Microsoft-compatible scripting layer, bibliography management, cross-reference tracking and a built-in PDF export with tagging. BasicMaker provides a VBA-style macro bridge for users migrating existing templates and add-ins from other suites.
