Private Internet Access publishes the source code for every client it ships, so the app can be inspected rather than trusted. The Windows build uses a single native client with WireGuard, OpenVPN and a bundled SOCKS5/HTTP proxy, and it exposes port forwarding and a configurable encryption cipher list that most consumer VPNs hide.

The network spans more than 35,000 servers in 91 countries, with stream-optimised locations and an automation API for scripting server selection. MACE blocks ads and trackers at the DNS level, and this pre-activated package unlocks all regions, the proxy layer and split tunnelling from the first run.

How to install

1. Unpack the archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR
2. Run the installer as Administrator
3. Follow the wizard and pick a custom install path
4. Pick the tunnel adapter type (Wintun or OpenVPN TAP) in settings
5. Launch Private Internet Access and confirm the licence dialog appears unlocked
