FontLab 8 covers the whole type-design pipeline in one application: drawing with Bezier and Spiro curves, kerning with automated assistance, spacing and metrics tables, and hinting aimed at screen rendering. Outlines are generated live as source curves change, so a design can be judged in the context of real text rather than in isolation.

Multiple masters and interpolation support variable fonts and large families, and a built-in previewer renders sample paragraphs while editing. Export targets OpenType PS and TT, variable formats, and older formats still required by legacy systems. Font audit tools check contours, anchors and Unicode coverage before release. The package installs offline as a pre-activated build.

How to install

1. Unpack the archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR
2. Run the installer as Administrator
3. Choose a custom destination and complete the setup
4. Launch FontLab 8 and confirm activation on the welcome screen
5. Install the included Python environment for scripting if needed
