Express Scribe Pro is the playback side of a transcription workflow. Recordings are loaded into a queue where speed is adjusted continuously with pitch correction, so a fast speaker can be slowed without sounding distorted, and short rewind steps, bookmarks and per-file notes keep position in a long dictation after a break. A USB foot pedal or configurable keyboard hotkeys drive start, stop and rewind without leaving the keyboard's home row.
Files can be watched in folders that pull new dictation in automatically, and timestamps can be inserted into a word processor while typing so quotations are traceable to the recording. Supported formats cover the dictation files typically produced by handheld recorders along with WAV, MP3, WMA and AIFF audio. The package installs offline as a pre-activated build; a foot pedal is optional and the software works from keyboard shortcuts alone.
