Dragon Professional v16 turns speech into text in any Windows application that accepts typing, including Word, email clients, browsers and internal systems. Punctuation, capitalisation and formatting are inserted automatically, and corrections adjust the acoustic model over time, while a custom vocabulary can be grown from the documents a user already writes so names, abbreviations and technical terms are recognised correctly.
Alongside dictation, the application accepts spoken commands for editing, navigation and window control, supports macro and step-by-step command scripting for repetitive work, and can transcribe existing audio files in common dictation formats. Recognition runs locally with the speech models supplied in the installer, and separate user profiles keep vocabularies and microphone settings apart on shared machines. The build is pre-activated and installs offline.
