Avast Premium Security starts from the free antivirus engine and adds the modules that matter on a shared or public network: a bidirectional firewall, a dedicated ransomware shield that guards protected folders, an anti-spam filter for mail clients and a sandbox for opening suspicious files in isolation.

Web, DNS and phishing filters run alongside a fake-site detector for typosquatted storefronts, and the remote access shield blocks unauthorised RDP connections. The pre-activated build enables every paid module at install time and silences the upgrade prompts that the free tier shows.
